The following narrative belongs to the relaxation imagery portion of the website
In the middle of the mountains you find a lake with three old wood boats. The sun breaks through the clouds floating in giant billowing shapes that creep across the sky. The rays reach for hundreds of miles over the mountains, and remind you of the brightness in your life. Surrounding the lake stand masses of tall pine trees where wild animals hide and play. You are amazed at the water that looks like a sheet of clear glass. A long silver fish swims around your boat. The boat you sit in rocks gently back and forth on the calm lake. You reach down and touch the cold water, splashing a few handfuls onto your arms. The pure water feels refreshing on your body in the warm sun. You sit in the boat noticing how quiet and still everything is. All you can hear are the leaves of a hundred trees moving in the wind, and an occasional bird from far away. In front of you on the other side of the lake sits a log house. You wonder if anyone lives there. On top is a small chimney but no smoke rises from it. Perhaps if you need a place to sleep tonight you could try there. In the boat is a long paddle made of polished oak. You pull it out and place it in the dark blue water. With a few strokes your boat shifts forward. You take a few more strokes and the boat moves out into the lake. You stop paddling and let the boat drift over the glassy water. A cool breeze catches your face, and you lay down looking straight into the sky. You can feel the boat slowly turning and drifting, not knowing where it goes. All you see are the reddish gray clouds and a few passing birds. For the first time in your life you feel comfortable not knowing where you are headed, because beauty surrounds you, and you realize no matter where you end up you will experience something gorgeous. Wouldn’t you like to live the rest of your life knowing this?
