Peace is Within You
Have you ever felt that the entire world is against you? That no matter how much you’re trying, you can see nothing but darkness all around you filled with negativity. I did.
There was a time not so long back when I felt that I was in a constant battle with the world or particularly my life. Little things annoyed me, people bothered me and all I could see was the bad side of everything.
I Felt Like A Puppet On a String Not In Control
I couldn’t understand as to why is there always some drama going on in my life or in those whom I love. I was in utter state of confusion as to why isn’t there any peace in the world and surely convinced that I should go to Himalayas to attain Nirvana.
But somehow I realized that the way you look at things would affect you and your life severely. I learned that by bringing some changes in myself, I could attain peace even though that wasn’t forever.

Nature is the best antidepressant
Have you ever felt in complete sync with nature? Remember when you went out for hiking or a family picnic or when you watched the sun set and stars shine with your loved ones?
The beauty of nature never fails to take my breath away each time I look around. I’m a stargazer and when I look up at the diamonds in the sky, it makes me realize that there are much more important things to do than we do all day.
Nature helps us to find ourselves. We have become so busy hiding inside our cemented constructed boxes that we have forgotten where we have come from.
Don’t worry about the skin tan, go feel the sun shining on your face. Don’t worry about getting wet, feel the rain tingling on your naked skin. Hear the sweet chirping of the birds, smell the fragrance of flowers and look how beautifully a butterfly flutters away after it has been transformed from a caterpillar. It seems small. The things. But it has always been the little things that have mattered. Nature would help resolve the chaos you have in your head.
Living In the Present
We humans often tend to get nostalgic and regret the decisions we made in the past. Or we worry about the future that hasn’t arrived, yet forgetting that the time we have now which is slipping away from our hands while we are busy daydreaming.
The worst part of living in the past or future is that we lose the control to make our present the way we want our future to be like. We get so caught up thinking about the past because we did not allow living those pasts when they were present and this is a vicious cycle.
So live up the ‘now’. Allow yourself to feel and absorb everything in your surrounding before shifting it to your past and you will lead a much happier life.
If your self-talk consists of words like, “I can’t”, “I don’t”, “I won’t”, then you really need to change your dictionary, my friend. I cannot stress on how important it is to use positive words in your daily speech and surround yourself with positive people who love and care. The rest can dismiss them. The power of positivity is too high and you simply can’t underestimate it. No one is perfect. Perfection is an illusion.
There is a lot of negativity and craziness in this world but we are in complete control on what to feel and how to respond. Peace comes from within you.
